Sticky Thorn in Pongola Nature Reserve, KZN, South Africa, 1.2.06

Young plant 1,6m high
big flowers; 12 pair of pinnae, 11 pair of leaflets per pinna, very small leaflets; Pairs of white stipular thorns to 7cm long; young twigs and peduncle sticky; Bark of main stem red brown.

Older plant 3m high, also quite long
(4,2 cm) peduncles with involucel at 2,5 cm.
